Wallhangings | Family House

mohair, lurex, wool, cotton | 150 x 206 cm | 2012

A wallhanging with the image of an iconic family house, executed in yarns and weaving techniques that accentuate this feeling. The house is designed by cutting and gluing pieces of textile together on a background. The textile house is subsequently transformed into a new piece of textile.
The wallhanging, which is ultra soft, gives you a feeling of shelter and security. Once you've wrapped yourself into this ultra domestic piece of textile you'll feel secured by the house.
This design method and theme will be a new starting point for future projects.
