Zuiderzee Settings | Cheese
tulip wood, ceramics | 110 x 60 x 83 cm | 2010
This "fold back" table with ceramic cheeses is inspired on the typically Dutch round cheeses from the Zuiderzee area. Each village had its own cheese maker and cheese vendor. The still life on the ceramic piece of cloth shows a balance with two cheeses.
With it's soft coloured tulip wood combined with white soft ceramic drawers topped with matte gold glaze this really shows a soft and very romantic side of the history of the Dutch Zuiderzee. Even the handmade paintings are much more soft then usually.
