KIKI VAN EIJK AT DESIGN MIAMI/BASEL WITH NILUFAR GALLERY AND PRINT PARTNER EXPOSIZE
Kiki is delighted to announce her presentation of two collections at Design Miami/Basel with Nilufar Gallery. The collections, Physical Interaction and Civilized Primitives, will be presented in a large scale installation within Design at Large.
Nina Yashar, founder and owner of Nilufar Gallery, came up with the fabulous idea to create a large scale tent that references the pieces' connection to the outdoors.
Using Bedouin style tents for design inspiration and modern tent systems for construction context, Kiki worked with Exposize to bring the idea to life. With their extensive expertize in large format printing, Exposize was able to bring to life Kiki's inspirations behind the collections, and further show her creative practice in a new and exciting way.
"These two collections represent my latest inspirations - how humans interact with the natural world and how designers have a responsibility to bring this relationship to design," says Kiki. Both projects are combining high tech and low tech through creativity and craft. "I am thrilled to bring these works to Basel with Nilufar as a part of their show at Design Miami/."
